I truly understood this statement when i had to climb the glaciers of Argentiere in my hometown valley of Chamonix… It took us over 8 hours to reach our campsite and be away from any light contamination. To realize the perfect shot i waited til midnight to start shooting , long exposure of 30 seconds, ISO cranked up to 8000 and the widest aperture to capture the subtleties of the lights shining that beautiful night.
