Just as anything else you wish to master, to take the perfect shot, you’ll need to get to know your camera inside and out; like a franc-tireur needs to know his gun, have a feel for winds, distance, and some kind of premonition or anticipation in regard to his target, the same applies to the photographer with in addition having the ability to capture people’s feelings.
Light, or lack of, is of the essence for a photographer. Recording Light, or in another word, taking a photograph, will decide on the quality of an image.
